Now is the Time for Measure N
Measure N ensures every Elk Grove Unified student has the best possible learning environment, empowering them to grow and prepare for college and careers. With nearly $2 billion in facilities that need improvements over the next 10 years, now is the time to invest in our aging local schools and support educational opportunities for all Elk Grove Unified students.
Measure N will fund vital health and safety repairs, modernize classrooms, improve academics and enhance safety at schools across the district and provide Elk Grove students with the facilities they need and deserve to grow and thrive.
Improvements Made Possible by Measure N:
Modernized Classrooms

Provide classrooms, facilities, and technology needed to support high quality instruction in math, science and engineering

Keep computer systems and instruction technology up to date

Create modern, multi-use classrooms to support hands-on learning and learning-by-doing

Replace aging portables that are expensive to repair

Build new schools in Rancho Cordova and other growing areas within the district
Health Improvements

Fix and improve deteriorating roofs, plumbing, gas lines, sewer lines, ventilation and electrical systems at campuses across the district

Remove asbestos, mold, and lead paint

Repair leaky or damaged roofs

Replace and repair heating and air conditioning

Remove hazardous, rusted lead pipes

Improve access for students with disabilities
Safety Improvements

Improve campus security with new cameras, intercoms, safety fencing, and emergency response

Repair gas lines and faulty electrical systems

Install fire sprinklers and update fire safety systems

Fix cracked, broken and uneven concrete

Provide safe outdoor spaces for students to eat and play
Local Control and Fiscal Accountability
Measure N comes with built in accountability to guarantee every dollar benefits our students.
No funds can be taken by the state
All Measure N funds stay local in Elk Grove Unified to support our local students and schools
No funds can be used for administrator’s or teachers’ salaries or benefits
A Citizens’ Oversight Committee and annual, independent audits are required
Measure N qualifies local schools for state matching funds that would otherwise go to other districts
